How to add a SOCKS5 proxy in iOS Shadowrocket
Shadowrocket is a common iOS proxy client. Enter the gateway, port and credentials generated by MooProxy to use a residential exit in your chosen country.
1. Prepare your settings
Log in to the dashboard and copy the generated settings, usually including:
- Server / Host: For example, us.mooproxy.net
- Port: For example, 55688
- Username: Your dashboard proxy username, with any parameters shown
- Password: Your full proxy password from the dashboard
- Protocol: Select SOCKS5
If you receive a complete proxy string, split it using host:port:username:password into the corresponding fields.
2. Add a connection in Shadowrocket
- Open Shadowrocket and tap the top-right +。
- Choose type Socks5 or SOCKS5。
- Enter the gateway address, for example
us.mooproxy.net。 - Enter the port, for example
55688。 - Enter your MooProxy proxy username.
- Enter your full MooProxy proxy password.
- Use a descriptive note such as MooProxy-US-Sticky to identify it later.
- Tap Done to save.
3. Choose a routing mode
To test the exit IP, initially choose Global routing and visit an IP-check page to verify country and ISP. For regular use, choose routing rules that fit your needs to avoid sending unnecessary app traffic through the proxy.
4. Configure sticky sessions
For account logins, social media or store dashboards, use a sticky session. Generate credentials containing session in the dashboard and reuse the same session for the account to avoid frequent changes.
5. Common issues
- Connection timeout: Check port reachability or try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Authentication failed: Recopy credentials and remove accidental spaces.
- Unexpected location: Check the country parameter in the generated credentials, such as country-us.
- App bypasses proxy: Check Shadowrocket's routing mode and matching rules.
