Evaluating the quality of an international IP pool
An advertised 150-million-IP International IPs pool can vary greatly in practical availability. Evaluate a Proxy IP pool by successful connections, reputation and location accuracy, not just size.
1. Destination success rates
Run small tests against your actual destinations and record 200, 403 and challenge rates. One pool can perform very differently across sites.
2. Blocklist status
Check Spamhaus, AbuseIPDB or IPQualityScore for listed IPs. A clean Residential proxy IPs pool should have few matches.
3. Location accuracy
US availability does not imply coverage of every state. Check city targeting when needed for ecommerce or ad verification.
4. ASN and ISP distribution
A residential Residential IP pool should span multiple household ISPs, such as Comcast, AT&T and Verizon. Concentration in one or two ASNs may indicate an ISP or datacenter-hosted pool.
5. Exit stability
Measure how long an exit stays consistent within a session. Reliable 10-minute and 30-minute sessions can produce different workflow results.
6. A simple pool evaluation
- Use trial traffic for 500 requests to your destination and measure success.
- Sample 50 exit IPs and check blocklists.
- Monitor 5 sticky sessions for 30 minutes for interruptions.
